In the short time they have been together, there is talk that 145th Street has what it takes to be the next major, breakthrough blues act.Live , they have been called infectious, high-energy, and awesome. Each band member is a seasoned, accomplished musician in his own right. As a band, they have a professional, tight, dynamic presentation that transports them to a level beyond local and regional favorite. In 2005 alone, they have been the opening act for blues legends B.B. King and Bobby “Blue” Bland among others. They consistently pack clubs and rebook city festivals, private parties and corporate events.Recently , 145th Street has taken its essence to a new level with the release of their CD, 145th Street – Deluxe Blues Band. This collection of ten songs displays the bands poignant and soulful approach to “The Blues”, while capturing the power of a live performance. Just released, it is being received with outstanding reviews by the media, fans, and the music community at large. Over 25 radio stations have picked up the CD across the U.S., as well as internationally. In September 2005, the album received a nomination for the San Diego Music Awards for “Best Blues Album.”Joe Walsh, legendary guitar player for The Eagles, after hearing the CD, said, “I enjoyed your album. Pretty f*&!ing good! When can I see you guys play?” With the momentum of their new CD, and the growing list of major venues booking the band, they are now expanding their tour radius throughout the Southwestern United States.
