How we handle the personal information of the freelancers who sell on anygig and the clients who buy.
Last updated 20 September 2026
These terms describe how anygig actually operates today, including our 10% fee, gig payments and payouts. They are not legal advice: have your own lawyer review them for the countries you trade in before you rely on them.
1. Who controls your information
anygig operates this marketplace and decides how the personal information described here is used. Where a freelancer or client processes someone else's information as part of a gig, they are responsible for that information themselves.
2. What we collect
Account and profile: name, email, password, role, location, headline, bio, photo, skills, rates and availability.
Marketplace activity: gigs, briefs, bids, gig requests, orders, milestones, weekly updates, reviews, favourites and order messages.
Money: order totals and fees, wallet transactions, invoices, payout account details and withdrawal history. Card details are handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.
Technical: device and browser information, IP address and basic usage records needed to keep the service secure.
3. Why we use it
To run your account, publish gigs and briefs, match buyers with freelancers, process orders and payments, hold and release funds, calculate our fee and the collective profit share, handle refunds and disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support and improve the platform. We rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in a safe marketplace, your consent where we ask for it, and our legal obligations.
4. What other members can see
Freelancer profiles, gigs, portfolio samples, reviews, ratings and completed-job counts are public, as are the aggregate figures on our collective pages. Order details, briefs, messages, bids, invoices and wallet balances are visible only to the people involved in them and to our staff when they need access.
5. Who we share it with
Our payment and banking providers, hosting and database providers, email delivery, and the AI services used by features such as the matcher — each only with what they need. We also share information where the law requires it or to protect our members. We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers and retention
Our providers may process information outside your country, protected by appropriate safeguards. We keep account and profile information while your account is open, and order, invoice and payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
7. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, object to certain uses, restrict processing or ask us to transfer it. Much of it you can edit yourself in your dashboard. Contact our support address to make a request, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security and children
We use encryption in transit, access controls and row-level permissions so members only reach their own records. No system is perfect, so please tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised. anygig is not for under-18s.
